Over the last few months St Michael’s has begun the process of becoming an eco-Church.  We have made a careful study of the various criteria that we need to fulfill and are gradually reaching our targets.  We now buy our electricity from a supplier of renewable energy.  And we have begun managing our churchyard in a more environment-friendly way.  The most visible achievement is a small wild flower meadow near the war memorial.   With its glorious show of poppies it not only attracts numerous insects, it is also a fitting tribute to the fallen of both world wars.  Other flowers are beginning to open, and the visiting bees and other insects will hopefully discover the bug-hotel which is hiding in the centre of the meadow.  (June 2019)
