St Michael and All Angels,

Parish Church of Haselbury Plucknett in South Somerset in the Diocese of Bath and Wells is part of the Wulfric Benefice, which also includes the parishes of St Martin's North Perrott, St Leonard's Misterton, St Bartholomew's Crewkerne and St Michael and All Angels, Wayford. This Benefice takes its name from the 12th century anchorite Wulfric, who, in accordance with the spirituality of his time, sought to serve God with a life of prayer and asceticism. He became a blessing to many of his contemporaries. Read about his remarkable life under “History.”

The Revd. Michael Gallagher is the Benefice Rector and Revd. Jonathan Morris is Associate Vicar with special responsibility for Haselbury Plucknett, Misterton and North Perrott.

From May 2005, we have been part of a Local Ministry Group which includes the Benefice of Merriott with Hinton St George, Dinnington and Lopen. All of us lie within the Crewkerne Deanery (newly formed in the summer of 2012) for which the Revd. Morris is Rural Dean.

The village of Haselbury Plucknett stretches along three roads from the small village green. It has two popular inns and a thriving Church of England First School. The village combines age-old tradition with up to the minute modern technology - represented in turn by Leaze Farm, which produces award winning Bakers Cheddar cheese, and the Ariel Motor Company, builders of the Ariel Atom, distinctive high performance sports cars.

The church is becoming well known for hosting concerts and other social events. It has good disabled access, we have disabled toilet facilities and an audio loop system is installed. We also have a meeting room with coffee/tea making facilities, which can be hired at a very reasonable cost.

In the summer of 2013, our church joined Crewkerne Churches together in supporting the Yeovil Food Bank Lord's Larder, which is administered by Yeovil Community Church at The Gateway.  Contributions for the food bank can be left at any time at Crewkerne Town  Hall or in Haselbury Church.  Representatives from all Crewkerne churches take it in turn to transport our gifts to the Lord's Larder.

The church, a Grade 2* listed building, is surrounded by a large churchyard, which is still open for interments and offers a haven of peace and tranquility.
