St Michael and All Angels Haselbury Plucknett with its two sister parishes of St Martin's North Perrott and St Leonard's Misterton has recently been integrated with the Benefice of St Bartholomew's in Crewkerne.  The new united Benefice is called the "Wulfric Benefice", after the 12th century anchorite who lived in Haselbury. (see Wulfric page)

From May 2005, we have also been part of a Local Ministry Group which includes the Benefice of Merriott with Hinton St George, Dinnington and Lopen.

We are all part of the Crewkerne & Ilminster Deanery and the Diocese of Bath and Wells.

The village of Haselbury Plucknett stretches along three roads from the small village green. It boasts its own shop, two popular inns and a thriving Church of England First School. Its parish church St Michael's and All Angels, a Grade 2* listed building, has a thousand years of history behind it.

As mentioned above, St Wulfric, whose life is described elsewhere on this website, lived in a cell close to St Michael's church in the early Middle Ages; in his day he attracted many pilgrims to the village.

The Rev. Michael Gallagher is the Benefice Rector and Rev. Jonathan Morris is Associate Vicar with special responsibility for Haselbury Plucknett, Misterton and North Perrott.

When you visit our church, you will be very welcome indeed, and we hope you will find something of God's peace within its walls.

Our church has good disabled access, we have disabled toilet facilities and an audio loop system is installed.
